A retinol derivative that offers two active ingredients in one. It remains extremely stable until applied to the skin, where it de-esterifies in the skin to retinol and linoleic acid. Linoleic Acid is a multifunctional acne-reducing ingredient that is an essential building block for ceramides, which support and repair the skin barrier. It absorbs quickly to restore moisture without leaving a greasy residue and can help unclog pores from impurities. This combination offers the brightening, exfoliating and anti-aging benefits of Retinol without the common side effects of irritation, inflammation, and dehydration. (When applied topically twice daily, it was tested in vivo to reduce skin imperfections, promote exfoliation, improve skin hydration, brighten complexion and decrease dark spots in 4-8 weeks. Tested in vitro to promote the synthesis of hyaluronic acid and collagen I.)
