TEZORA was founded on the desire to encourage skin care inclusivity and enhance skin vitality, while preserving Mother Earth’s beauty around us.

As Cosmetic Chemists, we spend our days formulating products for numerous skin and hair care brands. Having unique access to all active ingredients under the sun, we have spent years searching and selecting high-performing ingredients that were cultivated thoughtfully and sustainably, with nature in mind. Formulas that are safe to use for every consumer, BIPOC inclusive, packed with clinically studied, skin-enhancing properties both from nature and bio-engineered for optimal stability and efficacy.

MEET THE FOUNDERS ✦

  • The journey of my career began in San Francisco. I studied at San Francisco State University for four years with a double major in Biochemistry and Cellular & Molecular Biology. With impacted majors, I moved back to my hometown of Encinitas, CA and graduated from the University of San Diego with a degree in Biochemistry. I initially dreamt of becoming a dermatologist until my courses led me to the lab. Once I’d experienced first-hand the magic of chemical transformations, I changed course and chose to combine my passions for skin and science in the way of Cosmetic Chemistry.

    I gained my understanding of the ingredients and regulations of cosmetic raw materials as a Quality Control Chemist. I then transitioned into product formulation and immediately knew I had found my niche. Now several years in, I own a consulting company and formulate skin, hair, and personal care products for brands sold worldwide in retailers such as Sephora and Target. I love the creativity and challenge that comes with each formulation and am honored to be the trusted chemist for many brands. Naturally though, with access to every cosmetic ingredient, Nicole and I felt it was time to create a brand of our own using potent actives that work synergistically to truly transform the skin. From there TEZORA came to be.

  • My earliest memory of skin care was watching my mother apply her Pond’s cold cream at night when I was about 10 years old. From then on, it became a ritual of mine to watch my older sisters get ready for a night out. Analyzing every step and taking in every detail of their routine. It was because of this, I had adopted my own skin care routine at the age of 14. It wasn’t until later that I learned, the health of your skin, begins from within. I became conscious of everything that went into my body and on it. This led me on the path to all things holistic health and, naturally, Nutritional Science. 

    Once I graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, I landed an internship at a Cosmetic Manufacturing Lab, this is where I reconnected with Chanelle. I then pursued a Lead Cosmetic Chemist position formulating hundreds of different skin and hair care products that have been sold in Sephora, Ulta, and Neiman Marcus. 

     I have been working in the industry for almost 4 years and my passion for skin care formulation has only grown.

    Growing up as the daughter of an Iranian immigrant father and Mexican mother, I rarely felt depicted in popularized beauty and skin care culture. My diverse cultural background has served as a catalyst for developing an inclusive, clean skin care brand. TEZORA is a part of me just as much as I am a part of it.
